Meet the artisans

Our artisans are at the heart of what we do. They are the reason we exist.

Unlike other fashion brands, we know each and everyone by name, know their kids and their families, and we have shared numerous meals with them.

They each have a story to tell, and I’d love you to read them and be able to put a face to the hands that make the products you buy from us.

MARIA

Maria works her craft to help her kids out. She is 51, has 7 kids and two grandkids. Her mother taught her to weave when she was little She now needs the extra income to help her kids and grandkids det a better education

CLEOFE

Cleofe has two kids. Her motner ana cranamoner taught her to weave and She wants to keep her traditions alive and teach others to make these teytiles so her culture doesn't disappear.

BETTY

Betty is 30 and has two kids. Her arandmother taught her TO weave when sce was si a little girl. She grows cuys, chickens, pigs as well as working the land. She wants to keep her ana ner ancestors' traditions alive.

LOURDES

For Lourdes, her craft is her heritage and helps her feed her family. Her mother and grandmother taught her to weave. She wants to keep her traditions alive and teach others so her culture doesnt disappear.

MERCEDES

Mercedes is 80. she has 8 kids and more than 10 grandkids. Her grandmother taught her to weave and she considers it as part of her heritage, her culture and her identity. She only speaks Quechua.

IGNACIA

Ignacia is 66, has 7 kids and 9 grandchildren. She is worried about her offspring and their little ones' future and wants to prosper making traditional handwoven textiles to help them out.

ELSA

Elsa is 42 and has two daughters. She likes being an artisan and her craft allows her to support her family. She was taught to weave by the other women in the community.

JUSTINA

Justina is 52 has has 3 kids. She was taught to weave by her arandparents. She wants to keep her traditions alive and help her kids get a better education.

FLORA

Flora is 52 and has two kids. She has sheep, pigs and chickens for self consumption. She learnt to weave from her mom and grandmother, ana is now passino on the skill and knowledge to her kids.
