Blue zero waste tote bag with Andean motifs
This blue zero-waste tote bag has been made with soft corduroy leftover fabric and leftover Andean strips from a previous collection, making sure nothing goes to waste.
Its roomy interior fits a 15" laptop with its case inside. We've also added a zip-up pocket to keep your valuables safe.
We follow the World Fair Trade Organisation's guidelines to ensure our practices are fair and improve the lives of those who work with us.
The strip with the Andean motifs has been handmade by women in a rural community in the Peruvian Andes. We pay them a fair wage and help the ones that want to set up their own local businesses. We also dedicate part of the profits to undertake development projects chosen by the women in the communities.
The bag was tailored in a small family-run factory in Lima. We only work with small factories that respect workers' rights and treat them with the love and respect they deserve.
The handmade motifs
Each motif tells a story. This motif is called hearts. It's a special and very time-consuming motif that only the most experienced weavers know how to make. It's a special motif used in weddings. It's woven into the wedding clothes of the bride and groom and represents love.
Please note that each woman may weave the motifs slightly differently so the ones in your clothes might not look exactly the same as the ones in the picture. This makes every piece unique and special.
This tote bag is made of 97% cotton and 3% spandex for a super soft feel.
The motifs have been made using a blend of alpaca and sheep wool, so they are soft to the touch.
